As the kick off approaches and the anticipation levels grow, Sir Alex Ferguson ha shad a few things to say about our neighbours!

In his pre-match press conference, Sir Alex couldn`t help but question the sanity of some of those who follow Manchester City and recalled two incidents that he felt were, how you might say, questionable.

The first surrounded the infamous Welcome to Manchester banner that heralded the move, across the city, of Carlos Tevez, with Sir Alex remarking,

“At the time I thought it was stupid and they probably think that now.”

“I think it was probably worthwhile for maybe some of their supporters but not all. Others will have been embarrassed”

We`re not sure if embarrassed is the word we`d use, childish more like.

Sir Alex then turns his attention to one unfortunate supporter who, upon hearing the wealth the club had, let his ambitions rule his head, with Sir Alex commenting,

“There was one city fan who put a tattoo around his body saying ‘European Cup Winners` I mean people simply get carried away and, unfortunately, supporters are just as bad as directors.”

Before restoring a degree of normality to how things should be carried out in this wonderful game of ours by declaring,

“I think if you would ask their supporters they would prefer to see a trophy paraded through the city before they start screaming from the rooftops.”

So has Sir Alex gauged it right?
