United to Offer Ibrahimovic an Additional Role

One snippet of information that passed me by yesterday, on a day when I was, unfortunately, otherwise engaged, relates to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

With Jose Mourinho, as we reported on our front-page, keen to re-sign the 35-year-old Swedish striker, once he completes his recuperation from the knee injury sustained at the back-end of last season, one source suggests that Manchester United are prepared to go that extra mile to ensure Ibrahimovic is added, once again, to the Old Trafford set-up.

The good folk of the Independent are running with the suggestion that as well as returning to become a valued player, the offer of a place on the coaching team is also to be offered.

Now quite what role that would encompass remains to be seen but it is a clear indication as to with how much esteem the player is held by those at Old Trafford.

Would be great to see him back however his advancing years are a worry. What a player to have on the sub’s bench coming on to reap havoc later in a game.He probably wouldn’t be a regular starter however that could change if his form were good. Will still take him a while to get back to match fitness.Would be a very interesting signing.
