We`re not sure if Sir Alex launched into a hairdryer style tirade or merely sat there stunned like the rest of us after those two late Everton goals saw the spoils shared.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of what must have been, for the neutral, a thrilling conclusion to a game played at a high temp, Sir Alex spoke about throwing it all away, remarking,

“To lose two goals in injury-time is unthinkable. It is a terrible end for us.”

“We had it under control and the game is finished – even when they scored a second. It`s amazing, we`ve thrown the points away and hopefully, at the end of the season, we don`t have to sit back and regret it.”

But, Sir Alex was also critical of the fact that we had enough chances, during the game, to have put the result well out of the home sides reach, further remarking,

“We were so wasteful. We could have scored five or six in the second half and that has come to haunt us. They keep launching it forward and you have to have determination in situations like that.”

I bet they`re still chuckling in London, those Arsenal and Chelsea supporters who thought we`d taken all three points with minutes to go! But as the old saying goes, he who laughs last laughs longest!
