Having held his press conference and then having seen the game postponed due to the arctic weather sweeping the countryside, there`s not much worth mulling over apart from a few quotes related to midweek and the Premier League in general.

With regards to the Premier League, Sir Alex Ferguson remains convinced his youngsters would fare better at Upton Park, compared to Tuesday night, in a few years when he remarked,

“A few years from now these young players will go down there and win that game.”

“That is what experience gives you. It was not a 4-0 score line. We had the most possession; we had the most entries into the penalty box.”

“They had six strikes at goal and scored four. We defended poorly. You cannot afford that in a cup tie.”

No, you can`t can you Jonny Evans!

Returning to the Premier League, Sir Alex only served to confirm what we`ve all been thinking over the last few months when he commented,

“The leagues been wide open so far and it`s definitely possible that it could still be the case at the turn of the year.”

“It`s another indication that it`s a different league now and we`ve certainly seen a lot of surprising results.”

Although I can`t help feeling it isn`t a case of the weaker teams getting stronger but more of a case of the stronger teams getting weaker!
