The news that filtered through, yesterday afternoon, that the FA had charged Wayne Rooney and were banning him for two games hasn`t gone down well at Old Trafford.

There`s a feeling that, on the back of the five game touchline ban handed out to Sir Alex Ferguson that the club is being victimized.

But appealing can be a dodgy business as you always run the risk of losing and then finding that the two game ban has been extended to three games.

Currently, Wayne is expected to miss the Premier League clash with Fulham, this Saturday, plus the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City, at Wembley.

If an appeal is launched and it is successful, probably reduced to one game, then Rooney would miss the game against Fulham this Saturday and be free to take part in the aforementioned FA Cup semi-final.

The thing is, with the possibility of a third game being tagged onto the ban, if an appeal is unsuccessful, will United (and Rooney) run that particular gauntlet?
