Lurking in the media this morning is an interesting piece of transfer speculation.

According to the news vehicle Metro, Manchester United could be set to make a raid on Bayern Munich this summer.

Although our last raid on the Bavarian giants, bringing Bastian Schweinsteiger to Old Trafford, wasn`t a spectacular success, it seems that Manchester United are showing a keen interest in Joshua Kimmich.

Kimmich, a 22-year-old midfielder, has made a considerable impact at Bayern Munich, making 67 appearances since signing for the club from Leipzig, two years ago.

A German international, Kimmich is equally able to play as a full-back as well as in midfield.

However, we feel obliged to point out that as well as ourselves being interested, our source also states that our rivals across the road, Manchester City, are also interested.

It might also be wise to point out that it was the City boss, Pep Guardiola, who orchestrated Kimmich`s rise through the ranks during his time as the boss of Bayern which, in our opinion, could give City the slight edge if Bayern opt to part-company with their asset.
