Lurking inside the pages of one of the more respectable publications this nation produces on a daily basis, is an interesting supposition.

The respected folk of the Indepenedent have cast doubts about the futures of three of Manchester United`s current squad.

Our source is of the opinion that Manchester United, in order to raise funds to bring the exciting French forward Antoine Griezmann to Old Trafford, will allow Wayne Rooney, Ashley Young and Marouane Fellaini to leave, thereby freeing up funds to enable the 25-year-old Atletico Madrid striker to be signed.

It`s an interesting, but believable theory. Rooney and Young are both 31-years-old and although there sales wouldn`t bring in serious cash the savings made on the salary front would be welcome. As for Fellaini, I`m probably not alone in suggesting that he`s never really fulfilled the potential he showed when, as an Everton player, he was such a handful.
