It was unthinkable a few weeks ago (and I still think it is unthinkable NOW!) but Manchester United will reportedly sell striker Ruud van Nistelrooy … in the summer if he refuses to sign an improved three-year extension to his contract.

The Daily Mirror claims United are planning to offer the Dutchman a £10,000-a-week pay rise and the proposed deal would see his wages rise to £90,000 a week.

But if he refuses to sign, allegedly Sir Alex Ferguson wouldn’t think twice on cashing in on his star player at the end of the season.
