Recognition for his consistently good displays we`d say.

After his dynamic display, on Sunday, whereby Ander Herrera not only man-marked Eden Hazard out of the game but also provided an assist as well as scoring the second goal, the Spanish midfielder showed just what an asset to the side he is.

Hazard, tipped by many to be voted the PFA Player of the Year, never got a touch and remained a peripheral figure on Sunday, Herrera however was the star of the show.

The Spaniard`s value to the team has been recognised by those who conduct such affairs and according to the Daily Mail, the 27-year-old is set to be awarded a new contract.

The new deal will see Herrera`s salary increase to £120,000 a-week and secure his Old Trafford future.

Here at Vital Manchester United we`re of the opinion it is an astute piece of business, but we`d be interested to read your views on the midfielder in our comments facility.
