United Set To Make A Take-It-Or-Leave-It Offer For Major Target

|

Still trying to shake off the nature and manner in which we were soundly beaten, by Chelsea, in the FA Cup semi-final, on Sunday evening, it is clear that Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s Manchester United are far from the finished article.

This summer, as has been mentioned in summers gone by, it is essential that Manchester United use the transfer window to close the gap between themselves and the top two teams.

In the past few months, I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve produced articles relating to the chase to bring the exciting young winger Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford.

Whether the acquisition of the 20-year-old is exactly what the club needs or whether the money should be spent elsewhere, remains to be seen.

However, the media continues to generate numerous column inches and the last 24 hours have been no exception.

Yesterday, The Mirror championed the inference that if Sancho wants to make the move to Old Trafford then he’ll have to force a move away from Borussia Dortmund.

While, today, The Daily Star returns to the thorny matter of the size of the transfer fee implying that Manchester United will make Borussia Dortmund a take-it-or-leave-it offer said to be of the magnitude of £80 million.

Whether it’ll be enough to secure a deal remains to be seen.
