Wayne Rooney may have just exited a lean period goal scoring wise but it would seem that the England boss, Fabio Capello, ahead of the friendly with Denmark tonight, has faith in his big-name striker.

Talking to the media, and possibly boosting Wayne`s confidence, Fabio had this to say,

“He`s suffered ankle problems but, in terms of assists, he has had 12 and scored two goals last week.”

“Sir Alex said he was really happy with Rooney`s performances this season.”

“He said the reason Dimitar Berbatov has played well this year is because Rooney played well and helped him a lot.”

“But, for a forward, scoring goals is important too.””

“He scored twice against Aston Villa and that was really good for him. Rooney is really important but not only for Sir Alex.”

Could Copenhagen be about to witness a Rooney goal explosion?
