Yesterday we reported how our golden-boy striker, Wayne Rooney, appeared to have picked up a neck / shoulder injury in England`s 3-1 win against Mexico.

Thankfully, it doesn`t seem as if we`ve anything to worry about with Wayne informing the media afterwards,

“I feel good at the minute. I feel good fitness wise and I`m looking forward to it.”

“I`ve trained every session. I have a bit of a stiff neck but that should pass in a day or two.”

With the squad currently back in Austria, in a training camp, Wayne has also given a brief insight into how the altitude training is going,

“It`s been a long season for everyone. I`m quite fortunate in that I haven`t trained a lot in the last six weeks.”

“It`s hard work, it`s a different atmosphere in Austria and your breathing is a bit different.”

“But hopefully when we get to South Africa we will get the benefit.”

We all sincerely hope so, it`s about time we had a major impact on a World Cup tournament, is it not?
