The re-emergence of Chelsea, as Champions, in the final game of the season could very well be the last time that Gary Neville gets his hands on the trophy.

Although he will be with us next season, the emergence of Rafael means that our great servant could well find his role restricted slightly.

But, this could well be to his advantage with his recent injury history, rested between crucial games he could, very well, still play an integral part as United seek to reclaim their crown.

Talking to the media Gary has glimpsed back at the events of last season and remarked,

“Looking back over the season, it`s clear we made too many mistakes.”

“We lost seven matches and drew games we perhaps shouldn`t have – and that isn`t good enough.”

“OK, there were certainly things that went against us. Pre-Christmas injuries in defence essentially cost us two defeats against Aston Villa and Fulham.”

“You could also look at the second goal we conceded against Chelsea at Old Trafford and possibly the goal we conceded against them at Stamford Bridge and say they should have been disallowed.”

“But at the end of the day, when you lose seven matches you have no one to blame but yourself.”

Quite a fair assessment we`d say!

But a little mention of striking support for Wayne might not have gone amiss!
