After a spell whereby it was unsure whether out Argentine defender Marcos Rojo was part of Jose Mourinho`s long-term plans, it appears the 27-year-old is set to be rewarded with a contract extension.

Our associates at The Sun are hinting that the decision has been made to extend Rojo`s current contract, which expires in 2019 by a further twelve months.

Our reference source is intimating that Jose Mourinho ia happy with the performances the 27-year-old has given and wants to extend his £100,000 a week deal.

Using quotes from a United source, this is re-iterated by the following remarks, “Jose has been impressed by his desire and attitude and is happy for him to stay.

“They will all sit down at the end of the season and discuss it. Rojo also has no issues with remaining.

“He does have two years left on his current money, but that will stay the same and they`ll be no increase.

“It is just to keep things comfortable for everyone. Jose likes Marcos and things are going well for them both.”

Rojo joined Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2014 for a fee said to be of the magnitude of £16 million and looks set to become part of the Old Trafford furniture.
