As we continue to scan the media world for suitable news in this bleak, but necessary, international period, we`ve uncovered some interesting quotes from Michael Owen.

Owen who has hit the net in recent games but who looked a little, how you might say isolated against Sunderland, has serious ambitions to retire from his professional career with a full set of domestic medals.

Owen, who has also been linked with a January transfer window move away from Old Trafford, lacks two medals to complete his collection, the much coveted Premier League and the greatest domestic prize in club football, the Champions League.

Speaking about ending his career on a high, Owen has remarked to the media,

“They`re the two biggies missing – I`ve won all the small ones.”

“It would be great to win those two. I don`t even think Ryan Giggs or Gary Nevlle would have the collection I`d have then.”

“They might have more trophies, but they wouldn`t have the UEFA Cup, Super Cup and things like that. The Premier League and the Champions League are the two biggies, full stop.”

“I haven`t won either of them and if you offered me one of them now I`d snap your hand off.”

“But to win both would be a full collection, which has got to be my aim. That`s the one hole in my CV.”

“If I stopped playing tomorrow, then the one thing I`d regret is never having won the League. So that`s a major desire of mine – to win the League.”

Does anyone think / believe that Michael Owen will get his wish?
