A fit again Michael Owen is keen to get some match-time under his belt.

The striker, who`d love to start at Stamford Bridge, is currently in limbo when it comes to his future.

Speaking about that very subject, Michael has commented, to the red-top media, ahead of the trip to London, to face Chelsea,

“My contract expires at the end of the season and I`ve made no secret that, in an ideal world, I would extend my stay. But I will just wait and see what the club says. We have held no talks yet.”

But, returning to the hugely anticipated Champions League quarter-final tie with Chelsea, Michael has given the same red-top tabloids food for thought about the enticing tie, remarking,

“Since I`ve been at the club the games against Chelsea have been odd. We don`t get outplayed there, that`s for sure.”

“Unfortunately, we haven`t had many good results, though I`m sure our luck will change at some point.”

“In the league last month we were 1-0 up and put on one of the finest displays of football Stamford Bridge has probably seen from a visiting team.”

“Then they got back into the game from nothing, really, but we won`t let that happen again.”

Hopefully not!

As an aside, would you give Michael Owen a new contract for next season or is it time to let him go?
