United face Crystal Palace, at Selhurst Park, this evening, hoping they can get back to winning ways.

After three defeats on the bounce – Chelsea, Everton and West Bromwich Albion, Louis van Gaal will be expecting his side to show some resolve and, so we hope, get on the score-sheet again after failing in those three aforementioned games.

But, unfortunately, Manchester United will have to do so without the services of Michael Carrick who, so we`re informed, will not play again this season, with our Dutch manager remarking about the situation,

“Carrick is not available, it was more heavy than we thought. He shall not play anymore this season.”

Is it just a coincidence that Carrick has been absent in those last three games or is he a key member of what should be our normal starting eleven?
