The lofty position Manchester City temporarily occupy in the Premier League seems to have generated a situation whereby their confidence is now bordering on arrogance.

One recent recruit, in particular, seems ready and willing to shoot from the hip and provide an opinion or two on subjects that he really doesn`t know what he`s talking about.

Mario Balotelli, a modest gentleman if I ever saw one, seems to believe that after ten minutes in the Premier League he`s seen enough to cast judgment on all sort of matters.

One of these matters pertains to the accusation that our own Wayne Rooney isn`t even, in Balotelli`s view,

“He`s good but he`s not the best in Manchester.”

Obviously, considering the personal accolades Rooney collected from both his fellow professionals and football writers, something that Balotelli knows much more about.

He then comes out with the outrageous inference,

“Our attack of me, Tevez and Dzeko is the best in the world, better even than Barcelona and Real Madrid.”

Nothing like boosting your self confidence but perhaps we should chide that out of those three, Dzeko has played one Premier League game whilst the other two both yearn for a move away from the Council site.

Does anyone else get the impression that Balotelli starts his day by standing in front of the mirror and chants,

“Mirror, mirror on the wall, who`s the fairest of them all?”
