Roberto Mancini my man, now you can consider yourself a victim of Sir Alex`s famous mind games!

Yesterday Sir Alex was attributed with having mentioned, in numerous papers, that he wasn`t a fan of these clubs who have wealthy owners and who spend lavishly in order to capture glory.

Now he didn`t name any club but it was fairly obvious, to many, that his barbed comments were aimed at our Manchester rivals, City.

City, who have failed to win any silverware for over three decades and who yesterday added, rather extravagantly, an ordinary midfield player to their squad for an outrageous fee, finally believe they`re closing in on achieving their goal of putting some silverware in the boardroom.

However, despite Sir Alex not mentioning any club by name the verbal assault, Roberto Mancini swallowed the bait and saw fit to reply, counter-remarking,

“It`s normal when you want to buy a good player that you have to spend money. It is not important for me (what Ferguson says). I respect his opinion but I repeat that United, like City, have spent a lot of money in the past.”

Not important?

Why reply then Roberto?

Touch a nerve did we?
