United manager on how the squad is looking for Reading

|

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been speaking to the media ahead of Manchester United’s game against Reading at Old Trafford tomorrow night and he believes that he has a strong squad to choose from.

United booked their spot in the fourth round of the FA Cup with victory over Everton at the start of the month as they ran out 3-1 winners, whilst Reading reached the fourth round of the FA Cup by beating fellow Championship side, Watford 2-0 at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

The United manager was asked about how his squad is looking ahead of the visit of Reading to Old Trafford on Saturday evening because there were some players that missed the game against Nottingham Forest in midweek as Harry Maguire (suspension), Anthony Martial (injury), Luke Shaw (illness), Diogo Dalot (injury) and Jadon Sancho (just returned) were absent.

“We always have issues, but I think tomorrow, we have a strong selection for this game,” said the Dutchman, at today’s pre-match press conference [via Man Utd].

It is likely that United will make changes from midweek as the Reds have a lot of games to navigate in February as they are virtually playing a game every three days and speaking to the media ten Hag said that United have good strength in depth that allows them to freshen things up and rotate their squad.

”We have a good squad, we have depth in the squad, so we can cover things” [via Man Utd].

Vital United have published ten Hag’s quotes on Jadon Sancho’s availability, which can be read by clicking here.

The game between Man United and the Royals gets underway at 8pm UK time, and the game will be shown live on ITV Sport for those in the UK.
