It seems that Manchester United are, according to reports in the media this morning, even more determined to land the unsettled Real Madrid star, Sergio Ramos.

Talk of Ramos being involved in the deal that is more than likely to take David De Gea to Real Madrid seem to have been abandoned in favour of doing a straight deal with the Spanish giants.

Apparently, yesterday, Manchester United submitted an official bid, said to be of the magnitude of £35 million, to try and tempt Real Madrid into parting with a player who has become disillusioned with events at the Bernabeu after the removal from office of Carlo Ancelotti.

Ramos, currently on a cool £3.9 million a year, reckons he is worth double that and it`ll be interesting if a move to Old Trafford would satisfy his monetary demands or whether a change of scenery would placate him.

As for the chances of Real Madrid doing business, they look pretty good if you believe the press, The speculation appearing in the tabloid press, this morning, intimates that Real have already identified a possible replacement for Ramos in the Arsenal centre-back, Laurent Kocielny.

Could Manchester United close this deal down in the next couple of weeks?
