Young Federicho Macheda may well have his eyes on a spell in Italian football with Sir Alex Ferguson inferring he is prepared to let him go on a six month loan spell, but there could be other destinations.

Perhaps an indication that Macheda might not be heading off to Italy comes in the following quotes attributed to Sir Alex,

“If any club comes along and convinces the player and me that he`ll get games, they will be the ones we will be thinking about.”

“He`s thinking about Italy, but I`d hope it will be the Premier League.”

Hence the latest inference that Aston Villa and Wigan Athletic are poised to lead the race to take the striker on loan!
