Our sources suggest that the loan deal that will see Federico Macheda venture to another club to get some valuable playing time is almost complete.

With Sir Alex Ferguson implying that he`d prefer Macheda to stay in the Premier League you`d have thought that the interest shown by Everton and West Brom might see the youngster do just that that.

Especially with Roberto Di Matteo suggesting,

‘He is someone we looked at the start of last season. We are after a striker and we have to look at whether Manchester United will let him join us.’

But it appears that Macheda has got his wish to try his luck in Italy with our source suggesting that Sampdoria are on the verge of tying up a deal with Macheda`s agent remarking to the press,

‘I hope to finish everything by tonight so the player will be available for Sunday. The only thing missing is the formalities.’

We`ll endeavour to let you know if anything official is announced.
