After signing Harry Maguire, from Leicester City, last summer, you may have thought that, considering the money spent over the years, United’s dabbling in the transfer market for centre-backs was over.
After all, have we not, over the years, spent a fortune on acquiring, to name but a few, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof and, most latterly, Harry Maguire.
Indeed, with the likes of Axel Tuanzebe also emerging you could put forward an argument suggesting we were adequately covered.
But, according to the media, it appears not.
Seemingly, if The Metro is correct we’re interested in West Ham United’s 23-year-old central defender, Issa Diop.
Diop, a French U21 international is rated at around £60 million and is also said to be interesting Arsenal.
If the speculation is correct, could we be witnessing a very expensive centre-back partnership of Harry Maguire and Issa Diop next season?
