The international break seems to have been going on for ages but, sadly, we`ve not even reached the stage whereby the first of the two friendly fixtures has been played.
Today, I`d normally be looking forward to the weekend fixture, getting all excited and pumped up, instead I`m scouring the media just trying to find something of interest to report on.
Thankfully, there is some transfer speculation to comment on, with Manchester United, once again, being linked with the acquisition of a centre-back.
But, this time, it`s a centre-back that can stake a claim to being amongst the best in Europe.
According to the red-top publication, The Mirror, Manchester United are once again considering making a huge splurge in the transfer market by preparing a bid, said to be of the magnitude of, £50 million for the Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.
If the bid is submitted it will be an audacious attempt to lure the 24-year-old French defender away from Spanish football with Varane being a main-stay of the Real Madrid starting eleven.
However, the Mourinho factor could be an influence, with the player having experienced playing under Jose before.
Here at Vital Manchester United we`ll keep an eye out for any further developments and report back as deemed necessary.
