With, at the time of writing, there being just four days before the January transfer window slams shut, speculation is increasing relating to Manchester United bringing in a midfielder.

With Michael Carrick set to retire at the end of the season make the move into coaching, the local news source, the Manchester Evening News is inferring that talks have already begun to bring in a top-notch midfielder.

The player in question being the Napoli player Jorginho.

The speculation is given added credence with our referenced source suggesting that representatives of Manchester United have already met with the players agent.

At 26-years-of-age, Jorginho is approaching his prime, however, our referenced source is also stating that the deal won`t be done this transfer window but is destined to be concluded in the summer.

Here at Vital Manchester United we`ll keep a watchful eye out for any developments and report back as deemed appropriate.
