A piece of transfer gossip that appeared on Wednesday but a piece I was unable to cover due to reasons beyond my control, suggested that Manchester United were set to smash the British transfer record this summer.

Championed by the good folk of the most popular red-top publication his country produces, The Sun, is the suggestion that Jose Mourinho would quite like to add the Chelsea star, Eden Hazard, to his squad.

The 26-year-old Belgian is seen as the last piece of the Manchester United jigsaw with our referenced source suggesting that Manchester United would be prepared to tempt Chelsea into a sale by offering the West London club a whopping £90 million for his signature.

Digging deeper into the speculation, it appears that Manchester United are looking to make a move for the player after the 2018 World Cup in Russia, has been concluded.

However, as you`d expect with a player of the class of Hazard, other clubs are also linked with the player, with Real Madrid also getting a mention.

We`ll keep an eye out for any further developments and report back as deemed necessary.
