Our stature as one of the biggest clubs in the land will always serve us well when it comes to being linked with potential transfer targets, even more so when things haven`t, on the field, been going as well as perhaps they should have been.

Today, our friends over at the Daily Express are inferring that Manchester United have an interest in a Brazilian defender currently plying his trade in Serie A with the reigning champions Juventus.

The defender in question is Alex Sandro, who is 25-years of age and who, so our source is telling us, can be ours for the sum of £40 million.

But what do we know about the player whose full name is Alex Sandro Lobo Silva?

Born on 26th January 1991, at Catanduva in Brazil, the player started his career with the Brazilian side Atletico Parananense before moving to Santos (on loan) before moving to Europe to play for the Portuguese outfit FC Porto.

The player spent for years at Porto before moving to Juventus in 2015 and he`s also been capped by Brazil at U20, U23 and full level.

Here at Vital Manchester United we`ll endeavour to keep an eye on any possible developments on this piece of speculation and report back further.
