After being linked, via transfer speculation, with a raft of left-backs, today transfer tittle-tattle has Manchester United linked with the acquisition of a right-back.

According to the news source, The Sunday Express, Manchester United are, once the transfer window re-opens in January, set to spend £30 million on Thomas Meunier.

Meunier, 26-years-of-age, is currently on the books of the French club Paris Saint-Germain.

However, according to our referenced source, Meunier has fallen down the packing order since Paris Saint-Germain signed the Brazilian international, Dani Alves, from Juventus.

Meunier is fearful that by no playing regularly he could lose his place in the Belgian World Cup squad for Russia 2018.

Although Meunier is under contract until 2020, Manchester United are well aware that, after spending big on Neymar Jnr and Kylian Mbappe, Paris Saint-Germain need to sell to balance the books.

The acquisition of Meunier would add to the defensive options already available to Jose Mourinho.

Here at Vital Manchester United we`ll keep an eye open for any further developments and report back if deemed necessary.
