I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the transfer business Manchester United conducted in the summer, with regards to incoming players, was nowhere near what was needed when it comes to breaching the immense gap that exists between ourselves and the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.

It’s a feeling that is borne out by our miserable start to the season that already sees us a huge 10 points behind the leaders of the Premier League with just 6 fixtures played.

All eyes are already being cast towards the January transfer window and just how the Old Trafford hierarchy will act to rectify the situation.

Already, transfer speculation is surfacing as to who the club might be interested in buying.

Yesterday, The Daily Star, came up with an interesting insinuation relating to a possible double raid on Tottenham Hotspur.

According to our source, high on Manchester United’s transfer wish-list are the names of Lucas Moura and Eric Dier.

However, whilst acknowledging that both are international class, are they really the answer to our problems?

The reason I ask is that both are, at present, unable to secure a place in the Tottenham Hotspur starting eleven.

Therefore, my question to you is quite simple:

Should we really be looking at a couple of Tottenham Hotspur cast-offs as the solution to our ills or should we be aiming our sites higher?
