Not that long ago rumours were doing the rounds that Bastien Schweinstiger was looking to leave Bayern Munich.

The inference being that the German midfielder could well end up at Old Trafford.

However, all talk on that possible move has come to an end.

But, this morning, we awake to the suggestion that another Bayern Munich player might be heading our way.

The Express Group are reporting that the Bavarian sides captain Phillip Lahm want one last challenge as his career heads towards its swansong stage

The 31-year-old has a stack of medals to his name and Bayern will fight to keep the player at the Allianz Arena but may be prepared to let him move on if the player pushes for a move.

Lahm made his name as a full-back but has recently, courtesy of Pep Guardiola, operated successfully as a holding midfielder.

Would you welcome the possible acquisition of Phillip Lahm to Old Trafford?
