Although Manchester United successfully wrapped up the deal to bring Nemanja Matic to Old Trafford, that hasn`t stopped speculation appearing linking the club to another midfielder.

Over at Sky Sports, they`re suggesting, courtesy of some information obtained from the Spanish news vehicle Don Balon, that Manchester United are interested in the Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto.

With Barcelona set to invest in new players, following the sale of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain, the suggestion is that Roberto could be surplus to requirements.

The player has a buy-out clause in his contract of circa £36 million, but this is a figure that could be negotiated downwards.

But, according to our aforementioned source, there are other clubs interested in the player with the names of Chelsea and Monaco being mentioned.

Here at Vital Manchester United we`d be very surprised if a deal for Roberto, considering that Matic has been added to the squad, goes through, but then again???
