It was announced yesterday that Manchester United have secured Sergio Romero`s future at the club.

With speculation rife that David de Gea, as he is every summer apparently, set for a return to Spain with Real Madrid, Manchester United have acted quickly to tie Romero to the club until 2021.

Romero arrived at Old Trafford, back in 2015, from the Italian side, Sampdoria.

Argentina`s first-choice keeper, Romero has made 28 appearances during his two seasons with the club, but only 6 of those have been in the Premier League.

At international level, Romero has played in three major finals, the 2014 World Cup and the 2015 and 2016 Copa America Finals, unfortunately he was on the losing side on all three occasions.

However, putting pen-to-paper on such a long deal gives both club and player the security they are looking for in what are, when it comes to the goalkeeping position, uncertain times.
