Now with his illustrious past, having played for Liverpool, Real Madrid and Newcastle United, you`d have thought that Michael Owen would have seen it all.

But, the striker who has been hampered severely with injuries in the past couple of season, is on the comeback trail and over the last twenty-four hours has been quoted on several topics by the media.

One topic we`ve selected today surrounds the desire to succeed.

Michael, upon arriving at Old Trafford, last summer, was immediately hit by the will to win that runs right through the club, that magnificent desire to be the best, to achieve longevity when it comes to trophy winning, remarking,

“The thing that hit me at United is how driven everyone is.”

“I have been at some top clubs in my career but Giggs, Scholes and Neville and the manager are driven by winning.”

“And, if they don`t win, you can feel that extra motivation. They are born to do it and that is why they have been so successful.”

Is it a trait some are born with or can it be instilled by a coach who exceeds in man-management and getting the best out of people?

We`d be interested to hear your feelings on the matter!
