With the situation relating to the possibility of Manchester United losing the services of David de Gea, to Real Madrid, this summer still causing concern, speculation is suggesting the club is looking at potential goalkeeping acquisitions.

Although Sergio Romero has intimated he`d want the opportunity to stake his claim for the position on a permanent basis, with the keeper doing nothing to show he`s not capable, speculation has linked Manchester United with another top-notch keeper.

The popular tabloid publication, the Daily Star, has implied that Manchester United are one of four Premier League clubs interested in luring Jack Butland away from Stoke City, with the others being our rivals across the city and the London duo of Arsenal and Chelsea.

Butland, just 24-years-of-age, has recently made a successful return to the Stoke side after suffering a bad ankle injury that kept him side-lined for over a year.

On paper it looks a good deal but could it just be newspaper talk?

I guess only time will tell.
