Jose Mourinho`s quest to bring a top-class left-back to Old Trafford could come to a conclusion this January.

With Luke Shaw set to move on once the January transfer window opens, the good folk of the leading tabloid publication this nation produces, The Sun, are intimating that Manchester United will, once again, turn their attentions to the Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose.

Rose, 27-years-of-age, is now back to full fitness after a long spell on the side-lines and has hinted, in the past, he would consider leaving Tottenham Hotspur to move to a club that wins trophies.

However, if a deal for the England international is to be guided towards a satisfactory conclusion, Manchester United will have to overcome one enormous obstacle.

The Tottenham Hotspur supremo, Daniel Levy, has vehemently voiced his view that Tottenham Hotspur will not sell Rose to Manchester United or to any other title chasing club to improve their squads to the detriment of reducing Tottenham`s chances of a Premier League title triumph.

If that is the case, it could remain a forlorn chase!
