Continuing on the theme established in our lead article today, strengthening the Manchester United squad this summer, it appears that the club could have rivals for the signature of a long-time target.

The Chelsea winger, Willian, has been mentioned as a possible transfer target for Manchester United on several occasions this season.

The Brazilian is very familiar to Jose Mourinho with the 29-year-old having performed admirably for Jose when his second spell at the West London club was heading to an acrimonious end.

But, whilst we`re not even certain that Chelsea could be tempted to part with Willian, one popular red-top news source, the Daily Star is championing the inference that another club also has their eyes of acquiring the services of the talented Brazilian international.

The club in question being the Serie A outfit, AC Milan.

If Chelsea can be persuaded to sell, it remains to be seen where Willian`s preferences lie, would it be a reunification with Jose Mourinho or would it be pastures new in Milan?

Here at Vital Manchester United we`ll keep a close eye out for any developments and report back as deemed necessary.
