The possible signing of the French striker Antoine Griezmann is something that has a certain buzz about it.

The acquisition of the 25-year-old would add that certain something extra to our attacking options even if the transfer fee would be a near world record.

However, it seems that Manchester United may have to wait another twelve months for the deal to be done.

According to the good folk of theTelegraph, Atletico Madrid have told Manchester United they wish to keep hold of the French international for another season.

But, before we all start wailing uncontrollably, all might not be as it seems.

Our source goes on to reveal that whilst holding on to Greizmann for another year is Atletico Madrid`s preferred option, they are perfectly aware that they are powerless to keep Griezmann if Manchester United trigger the release clause in the players` contract.

To that affect, our source has revealed that Atletico Madrid have lined up a possible replacement and are being linked with a move for Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon.

As we`ve said before, it could be an interesting summer as Manchester United seek to shuffle the pack but with squad improvement being paramount.
