Today, as I scanned the media, the name of another potential centre back signing has surfaced.
According to TeamTalk, Manchester United are interested in signing Jules Kounde.
The 22-year-old French defender is currently on the books of the La Liga side, Sevilla.
However, his performances have also generated interest from two of the giants on the continent, in the shape of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
But according to our referenced source, Manchester United have a cunning plan to thwart the big two.
Our source is championing the suggestion that the club are willing to offer Sevilla £60 million to land the player.
Now whether such a move will be successful remains to be seen.
