It`s great to see that Sir Alex Ferguson has, once again, been nominated as a contender for the ‘Manager of the Year` in the prestigious FIFA Ballon d`Or awards.

FIFA have, obviously, recognized that Sir Alex is amongst the best around but, however, we should point out that if we were to be brutally honest we can`t see the wily old Scotsman actually getting the award.

Nominated alongside fellow Premier League managers Carlo Ancelotti and Arsene Wenger, we`d hope that he`d see off the challenge of Wenger but with Ancelotti having won the double in his first season at Chelsea, we reckon the Italian, as far as a winner coming from the Premier League is concerned, may have the edge.

But, likewise, we`d have to question whether anybody is likely to be ahead of a certain Jose Mourinho in the final shake-up with the Portuguese manager having won a unique treble whilst at Inter Milan.

But then again, you just never can tell can you!
