So far, all the talk relating to a successor for the ageing Edwin Van der Sar has focused on recruiting someone from the continent.

Today, all the talk though has swung in a completely different direction with one leading red-top inferring that Sir Alex Ferguson is now looking at someone a lot closer to home.

Apparently our attention has switched to Liverpool`s Spanish keeper, Pepe Reina.

The tabloid goes on to suggest that United may very well be preparing to capitalise on the turmoil currently existing at Anfield by trying to lure the keeper to Anfield in a deal that is quoted as being worth something in the region of £12 million.

If the swoop does materialise then Reina would become, we`re reliably informed, become the first player to make the switch between the two clubs since a certain Phil Chisnall left Old Trafford, for Anfield, in 1964.

But does such a switch meet with your approval?
