It`ll be great to see Rio Ferdinand back alongside Nemanja Vidic tonight.

His return from injury is a welcome boost to a side that has shipped far too many goals in recent fixtures, especially late ones.

After, picking up a knee injury, in the build up to the World Cup in South Africa, Rio`s rehabilitation appears to have gone to plan and following a reserve team outing, albeit only forty-five minutes long, the stage is set for his return.

Ahead of the all-British clash with Glasgow Rangers, Rio has spoken to the media about his comeback and how confident he is that his injury worries are now all behind him, commenting,

“I have been training full pelt with the team the last two weeks and played a reserve game the other day and feel good.”

“I just enjoyed being out there, putting the shirt on and smelling the cut grass again.”

“My back is fine now. There are things I have to do make sure the problem doesn`t reoccur but that is part of getting older.”

“I hope I am through it all now. I feel confident my knee is perfect and confident with my back.”

We`re sure Rio will get a rousing cheer when his name is read out on the team-sheet tonight!
