Emotions were always going to run high after seeing their side soundly beaten by their near-neighbours Manchester City.
But, ploughing through the thousands of comments on social media, you get the impression that all is definitely not well when it comes to Jose Mourinho’s reign at Old Trafford.
The general consensus of opinion, displayed by the aforementioned posts, seems to indicate that the support believes there is some kind of power battle going on between self-appointed Special One and the Old Trafford hierarchy, with the following illustrating just such a point:
Even more of a shame since the "right players" were on the bench (Mata, Fred, Bailly). Jose upset at the board for not giving him money, and trying to make his point with the selections. Board probably upset with Jose for not picking players HE bought… Something's got to give

I wouldn't give this guy 50p

That's where I'm at as well pal. Give him TRUE backing (anything he asks for so he has no excuses) or get rid of him. The lack of trust is a two way street.

But, when it comes to the defeat against Manchester City, a defeat that has effectively ended our chances of winning the 2018 / 2019 Premier League, other believe Mourinho got his team selection wrong:
Own up and Say I set my Team's up Defensively and we were lucky the last couple of weeks , I made Mistakes by fielding 3 defensive midfielders today and was afraid to attack , Woodward time to show Mou the door!!!!

A fair point I’d say.
But others feel aggrieved that Manchester United, under Jose Mourinho, can plummet from the sublime to the ridiculous in the space of a few days:
I don’t cry at every one of our games because I sorta expect it to go south (let’s be real, that’s been our form), but this was worse. This was agonising. Such a great game against Juve and then this. What was that?☝????shot on target was the pen. Dear lord ????????♀️

However, perhaps we should point out that against Juventus we were second best but got lucky towards the end.
A strange game this sport of ours we love isn’t it!
