United FA Youth Cup date confirmed

Manchester United Under-18s clash with Stoke City in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup will be played in the New Year after the date was officially announced [Man Utd].

The game against Stoke City, who defeated Blackpool in the previous round, will take place on Wednesday 11th January 2023 at the Bet 365 Stadium, with kick off scheduled for 7pm UK time [Man Utd].

The Young Reds started the defence of the FA Youth Cup in fine fashion as they defeated Crystal Palace 3-1 at Selhurst Park in the third round, which was an impressive result for Travis Binnion’s side because playing against the Eagles, regardless of the level, is an extremely tough fixture.

United are hoping to repeat their heroics at Old Trafford last season where they won the FA Youth Cup last season as they defeated Nottingham Forest in front of a record crowd, and the opportunity to play at a EFL Championship ground will be another positive step in the youngster’s development.

The last game that the United Under-18s had was against leaders Sunderland at Carrington and the Young Reds were victorious as they came away with a 1-0 win, thanks to Dan Gore, who scored the only goal of the game [via Man Utd].

Before the game against Sunderland on Tuesday, United defeated Middlesbrough 3-0 at Carrington last Saturday, and with back-to-back wins, United can go into the clash against Stoke City with confidence, as this is the next game that the Under-18s will play.
