After the euphoria of the narrow FA Cup win over Crawley Town, we trudge off to Southern France for a Champions League tie with Marseille.

The trip represents the first return to French soil for Patrice Evra.

Evra, who felt the full brunt of the French authorities over the South Africa World Cup fiasco, could be in for a rough time if the words of the Marseille backroom staff are anything to go by.

Jean Fernandez has stoked the fires by remarking,

“This will be his first game in France since the World Cup and the crowd are certainly going to be booing him. Marseilles coach Didier Deschamps can bet on it.”

“He can ask his players to provoke Evra to the maximum so that he fouls and ends up getting a yellow card.”

If that happens Evra will not be able to defend as effectively.”

“That could be decisive as his aggression in winning the ball – and winning it back – is so important in his game.”

Don`t let then get to you Patrice, you`re far better than that!
