Yesterday, in an article, we reported on how it looked very likely that two young Manchester United defenders were set to head to the Stadium of Light to further their careers.

This morning news has broken that confirms that Paddy McNair and Donald Love have left Manchester United to join Sunderland.

Manchester United will receive a fee of £6 million, in total, for the two 21-year-olds and both McNair and Love have signed four-year contracts with the Black Cats.

Talking about the acquisition of the pair, our former manager David Moyes has remarked,

‘Paddy is a young, athletic player who is improving all the time.

‘He has experience for Northern Ireland and we want to bring as many international players to the club as we can.

“Donald comes highly recommended and is another young player who I hope can develop and improve here.’

I guess, for both, it is a wrench leaving Old Trafford but sometimes a move is the best for all concerned.

Here at Vital Manchester United we`d like to wish both all the best for the future whilst also thanking them for their commitment to the United cause during their stay with us.
