After seeing off the brave challenge of Blackburn Rovers, Manchester United didn`t have to wait long to find out who their quarter-final opponents would be.

The draw for the quarter-finals was carried out at Ewood Park, immediately after the final whistle had gone in our game.

With the balls being drawn by the former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves and the former Blackburn Rovers striker Chris Sutton, Chelsea were first out of the hat followed by Manchester United.

The tie means a return to Stamford Bridge for Jose Mourinho who will be looking to avenge the 4-0 defeat Manchester United suffered there in the Premier League fixture this season.

The full draw for the quarter-finals is:

– Chelsea v Manchester United

– Middlesbrough v Huddersfield Town or Man City

– Spurs v Millwall

– Sutton United or Arsenal v Lincoln City
