With the January transfer window now closed, the spotlight is starting to focus on who Manchester United might be bringing to Old Trafford this summer.

One name that continues to generate column inches is that of Antoine Griezmann.

The 25-year-old is highly coveted by Jose Mourinho and would command a fee not far less than that Manchester United paid Juventus for Paul Pogba.

Today, two pieces of speculation appear in the media that caught my eye, the first, courtesy of The Guardian, is of a positive nature.

This particular source suggests that negotiations between Atletico Madrid and Manchester United have reached the stage whereby an agreement has been agreed in principle for the striker to join Manchester United this summer.

However, before anyone does a jig of delight and start making preparations to buy merchandise with the name of Griezmann emblazoned on it, another source, espn carries the inference that Manchester United have denied that such an agreement is in place.

Two views at far different ends of the scale, but who is telling the truth?
