United Considering Veering Away From Youth To Sign An Experienced Central Defender

|

It still, after a plethora of transfer speculation, remains to be seen who Manchester United eventually sign to bolster what is perceived as a problem area in the side, the heart of the defence.

The last three or four weeks have seen the club linked with a raft of possible signings with the latest speculation we covered, Click Here, implying that United had seen a bid rejected for their, reported, main target.

Today, as has been the case on several occasions recently, a new name has been thrown into the mixer.

According to the news source, the Daily Mail, Manchester United are set to make a move to sign Sergio Ramos.

Ramos, now 33-years-of-age, has been on the books of Real Madrid for fourteen years but could be leaving the Bernabeu this summer as Zinedine Zidane looks to rebuild the fallen giants of Spanish football.

Now, on paper, Ramos might look to be a good buy but sat here in the editorial chair, I’m not so sure.

The Spaniard has no experience of playing in the Premier League and I have reservations as to whether his age would count against him.

Also, at 33-years-of-age, I get the feeling Ramos would be something of a stop-gap purchase and we’d not be addressing the problem on a long-term basis.

But they are just my views, please feel free to drop your views into the comment facility beneath this article.

CommentRamos is a very good defender with a varied experience. But i’m sure his age would be a disadvantage to utd as he won’t stay for long term.I suggest utd go in for young defenders like De_ligt or,Koulidbaly.

Ramos, a good player but his age is only for short term achievements,we need a brighter future in the club.

Ramos was a good player when RM could not release now time is waving him a sad bye. Manchester United buying would be a sad repetition of the Sanchez tragedy .Buy Leit
