Title winning campaigns are usually founded on a solid period whereby a team kicks on after making a good start.

I suppose you could call an unbeaten run to the season a good start, especially when it places you firmly on top of the table.

But it has been a far from ideal start, too many drawn games, especially away from home and at times you almost got the impression we were a little complacent at times letting games drift away from us from winning positions.

Michael Carrick has spoken about such a thing and also suggested that the title is ours for the taking if United can mount one of their famous second half of the season, surges, remarking,

“You hope that spell is behind us.”

“It`s never far away though if you start to take your foot off the pedal.”

“A couple of bad performances and bad results aren`t far behind.”

Precisely and with it being the most open title race for years you get the impression that those teams who have been slipping up won`t be doing so again!
